There are also weekly writing competitions which usually have a first price of $50, with $30 for second and $10 for third.

Constant Content is another writing site although this is slightly more business like. Customers post requests for people to write articles and the payment for these can go up to over $100 depending on what is to be written and the length required. If you think you can write the article you do so and post it to the site. It is then reviewed by a Constant Content editor and if it is accepted will be sent to the customer who has the option to buy it. If they do not purchase the article, it is then put in the general content where any other customer is able to view and purchase it if they like it. Other artists use Etsy to sell at, as it is geared more towards handmade items, and have found that it works well for them. Etsy is more of a storefront with fixed prices, rather than auction sales like eBay is. Others use eBay to get rid of items they no longer need around the house, and can find that profitable, too.
