On the internet there are many web sites that are looking for quality material and if you are able to provide this you can earn money. There are a number of good web sites that you can sign up with to get your writing career started.

Associated Content is one of the better ones and on this site there are a number of ways to make money. They have an assignment desk which posts topics which they are looking to be written. Helium also has a market place where customers post jobs for anything from $10 to over $100 dollars. You can write to these and then compete with any others who also do this and if your article is selected by the customer you get paid. There are also weekly writing competitions which usually have a first price of $50, with $30 for second and $10 for third.

Constant Content is another writing site although this is slightly more business like. Customers post requests for people to write articles and the payment for these can go up to over $100 depending on what is to be written and the length required. If you think you can write the article you do so and post it to the site. It is then reviewed by a Constant Content editor and if it is accepted will be sent to the customer who has the option to buy it. If they do not purchase the article, it is then put in the general content where any other customer is able to view and purchase it if they like it. On this site you can also write on any subject you want and if your article is accepted it will be put in the general content where any customers visiting the site to look for content can view it and purchase it.

Other artists use Etsy to sell at, as it is geared more towards handmade items, and have found that it works well for them. Etsy is more of a storefront with fixed prices, rather than auction sales like eBay is. Others use eBay to get rid of items they no longer need around the house, and can find that profitable, too. I had a friend who lost a lot of weight, and sold her “fat” clothes on eBay, and did very well with that. Children’s clothes also seem to sell well.

Another thing I do to make money online is working on a site sponsored by Amazon, called Mechanical Turk. Workers there are paid for questions they answer, surveys they take, and small projects they complete for various sources–humans doing the work that people think computers are doing, basically.
