Seasonal Work-Landscaping
There is always an opportunity to earn extra money during the change in seasons. In the summer one can earn extra money by cutting lawns of neighbors. Depending on the size of the property, an average lawn cut is $20 to $25 dollars. In the fall one can earn quick money by raking leaves, and clearing beds. In the winter one can earn quick money by shoveling snow.

Host a Yard Sale
One person’s junk is another person’s treasure. You have probably accumulated a lot of material items you no longer use or need. Toys, clothes, board games, furniture, video games, books, and appliances all can be sold quickly. Send out a flyer and/or coordinate a yard sale with neighbors. All you need are some tables and good weather. You could probably make a few hundred dollars without much effort.

Delivery Person
If you have a car, you can probably get a job delivering newspapers, flowers, or food from pizza/sandwich shops. These jobs are plentiful, and the tips are usually good. Look in your local newspaper or go to your local shopping center to see if these jobs are available.

Caregiver
This job is a quick way to earn money. For children, you may not have to leave your house. One can earn money watching kids after school until dinner time. Parents would rather have a trusted individual watch their child in a home setting, than paying for after school care. If you are watching an adult, you may need a car to go to their residence. In addition, you may be required to pick up prescriptions or food as part of your job responsibilities.

On the internet there are many web sites that are looking for quality material and if you are able to provide this you can earn money. There are a number of good web sites that you can sign up with to get your writing career started.

Associated Content is one of the better ones and on this site there are a number of ways to make money. They have an assignment desk which posts topics which they are looking to be written. If you think you can do this you claim the assignment and write it. However you are also free to write on any subject you want and post this on the site. There are a couple of ways to be paid. Firstly you can get an upfront payment for writing some articles and also you are paid for the page views you generate with the content you produce. Up front payments can be $10-$20 with the page views generating $1.50 per 1000 views. As you get more views, this can rise to $2.00 per 1000 views.

Helium is another good site and there are a number of ways to earn money on this. They have thousands of titles that require to be written and you can search and find topics that suit you. They also pay for page views of your content although there are more lucrative ways to make money on this site. Upfront payments of up to $2.50 can be made if you are one of the first five people to write to a title and if you are the very first you will get an estra $1 bonus. Helium also has a market place where customers post jobs for anything from $10 to over $100 dollars. You can write to these and then compete with any others who also do this and if your article is selected by the customer you get paid. There are also weekly writing competitions which usually have a first price of $50, with $30 for second and $10 for third.

Constant Content is another writing site although this is slightly more business like. Customers post requests for people to write articles and the payment for these can go up to over $100 depending on what is to be written and the length required. If you think you can write the article you do so and post it to the site. It is then reviewed by a Constant Content editor and if it is accepted will be sent to the customer who has the option to buy it. If they do not purchase the article, it is then put in the general content where any other customer is able to view and purchase it if they like it. On this site you can also write on any subject you want and if your article is accepted it will be put in the general content where any customers visiting the site to look for content can view it and purchase it.

Also, it’s important to submit original and unique content if you want to rank higher in the search engines. There are many sites that can do an duplicate content check. Click the link for information on the one this site uses.

Everyone has plenty of stuff lying around that they do not use or want anymore. Rather than throw it away or let it build up, why not sell it to someone who can use it and make some extra money? The key is to have the sale on a weekend. This will maximize the amount of people who can visit the yard sale and therefore maximize profits.

A year ago my whole neighborhood had a community yard sale. It was such a lovely day out and the community-wide sale not only made everyone money but also provided such a nice and friendly environment. By the end of the day I had not only made over three hundred dollars, but I had gotten rid of two of my old couches, one old desk, and a bunch of other trinkets. In addition to the monetary benefits, I learned a lot of new entrepreneurial techniques including: bartering/negotiating, marketing, advertising and more.

In the end it was a successful event and benefited me in ways I had no idea possible. With three hundred dollars in my pocket and a cleaner house, I was now able to buy what I had been really wanting: a flat screen TV.

Other artists use Etsy to sell at, as it is geared more towards handmade items, and have found that it works well for them. Etsy is more of a storefront with fixed prices, rather than auction sales like eBay is. Others use eBay to get rid of items they no longer need around the house, and can find that profitable, too. I had a friend who lost a lot of weight, and sold her “fat” clothes on eBay, and did very well with that. Children’s clothes also seem to sell well.

Another thing I do to make money online is working on a site sponsored by Amazon, called Mechanical Turk. Workers there are paid for questions they answer, surveys they take, and small projects they complete for various sources–humans doing the work that people think computers are doing, basically. The pay is not great, but if you have spare time and want to earn a bit of spending money, it’s a great way to fill those empty hours and make some money at the same time. You might only be paid 1-3 cents for answering a question, but you can answer many questions in an hour, generally, and if it’s just time you would be sitting around watching television or surfing the net, you might as well get paid for it!

Other options are licensing photographs you take–there are various businesses that will work with you to license your photos with companies and pay you royalties for their use. One of these is Getty Images. You might have the ability to write or design web pages for other people; this is a growing need but some training is needed.

While collecting cans probably won’t make you a millionaire, it is a good source of extra income for some of your favorite charities, schools, and even yourself.

STEP 1
Find a buyer. Call your local recycle centers, and scrap metal dealers. Ask them if they buy aluminum cans, and how much they pay. Usually they pay by the pound. It takes about 32 empty twelve ounce cans, to equal one pound. Also ask them what their acceptance requirements are. Some places won’t take dirty cans, while others may require you to crush or flatten them before they’ll accept them.

STEP 2
Find locations that have unwanted cans. There are many places that want to get rid of cans. You can collect the cans that your family discards, and you can also collect cans from roadsides, parks, ditches, businesses, and organizations.

STEP 3.
Wear the right clothes. You’ll want to get some good shoes, long pants, gloves, and a dust mask.

STEP 4.
Get the right can collecting supplies. You’ll need a digging stick to rummage around with, antiseptic hand wipes, a strong plastic garbage bag to put the cans in, and a first aid kit in case you get cut by the aluminum.

STEP 5.
Collect the cans. Go to places that people visit in large groups, like events, and carnivals after the show. Store the cans outside, in a container with a lid, to keep the pests away.

STEP 6.
Trade cans for cash. Go to your local recycling center, and trade the cans for cash! Usually, the process involves showing your identification, weighing your cans, and collecting your money.

Collecting cans for money can be a minimal source of extra income, but when combined with the efforts of local organizations, it can be a very profitable business.
