That’s right a day laborer. When you hear the term day laborer, you probably think of the illegal immigrants that you see on the corner standing around in groups waiting for someone to come by to offer them day wages for some some work that needs to be done.

Believe it or not, it’s pretty profitable for these guys who do that. If you’re the type of person who is willing to do manual labor to make some extra money then this might be the thing for you.

When I finished high school and started working full time, I wasn’t making a lot of money. I still wanted to go out with my friends on the weekend and have fun, but with the cost of living, that wasn’t possible unless I made some money on the side. When you drive around your neighborhood look for a group of guys that are standing on the corner in the morning hours and most likely they’re there looking for work. Once you find the area the rest is quite easy.

Be sure to get to the location early in the morning with a cup of coffee and your toolbox in hand. People looking for help will stop by and negotiate a price for what they need. Sometimes it may be just to help clean put the garage or gut out an apartment that needs to have new sheetrock put in. Depending on the job and the time involved you can make a good day’s pay.
